CAPTAIN D’S FRANCHISE RECOGNIZED BY QSR MAGAZINE AS A TOP CONCEPT FOR PORTFOLIO DIVERSIFICATION
If you’re a multi-unit Franchise Owner, you may already be seeking the opportunity for a concept that complements, rather than competes with, your existing restaurant franchise portfolio.
In this year’s September issue of SmartChain, QSR Magazine recognized the top 10 restaurant franchises ideal for portfolio diversification, including Captain D’s.
Chief Development Officer for Captain D’s, Brad Reed, sees this playing out when talking to franchise prospects. “Diversifying means operators can successfully gain more market share in a particular area, without the risk of cannibalizing their own businesses,” he explains.
Diversification was a significant motivator for the seafood franchise’s largest Franchise Owner, Chris Benner, in his decision to add 30+ Captain D’s locations to his existing portfolio of restaurants. He couldn’t deny the seafood chain’s unique position in today’s marketplace.
“The one thing that really appealed to us about Captain D’s is that there really isn’t any direct competition,” Benner says. “When you look at other brands, like chicken or burgers, you’re always looking over your shoulder to see what’s coming up next.”
Multi-unit owner Jimmy Jamshed agrees.
Multi-unit owner Jimmy Jamshed agrees. “Captain D’s is fresh, quality healthy food you can’t get anywhere else,” he says. “And that’s the best success you can have, when there’s no competition out there.”
Reed echoes this in saying, “Captain D’s prides ourselves on the fact that there is no other restaurant franchise quite like us. We have casual-dining food quality, a quick-service price point, and fast-casual service. It’s a win-win-win.
