Captain D’s is celebrating a big catch. In its recently published survey of Top 50 Beloved Brands, Nation’s Restaurant News, [NRN] ranked Captain D’s among brands, like Starbucks and In-N-Out Burger, that consumers choose because they love the experience, not just the convenience.
Of course, as delighted as Captain D’s is at the news, we’re not surprised. We’ve made pleasing customers a priority since we first opened in 1969 and launched our fast-casual franchise. It’s why customer satisfaction continues to drive our business.
Menu Classics and New Favorites are Driving Waves of Guests in.
To commemorate our Golden Anniversary, we brought back, for a limited time, some of our classics, like the Sampler and Giant Fish Sandwich. Both have made seafood lovers happy for the past 50 years.

Captain D’s has also updated the menu with lighter, healthier choices like Wild Alaskan Salmon and Tilapia. We’ve redesigned our restaurants with a vibrant, new coastal design that’s open, fresh, and inviting. And every employee who comes on board, from hourly associates to area directors, receives training to make sure Captain D’s is always guest-centric focused.

And clearly our efforts are paying off. Not only with wins like the NRN’s Top 50 and for Franchise Owners like Chris Benner, who owns 33 Captain D’s seafood franchises. He is heartened to see people who visit his restaurants multiple times a month. “Many of our guests have been in love with Captain D’s for decades, and it’s really neat to be their source of happiness,” he said. “Many of our folks visit on a weekly basis, or several times throughout the week.”
